Stay bug-free from ankle to waist. The lightweight BugsAway® Damselfly pant has a drawstring waist, articulated knees, and a packable zip pocket on the back. Roll up the legs and snap in place when you leave the buggy zone. Bug blocking: BugsAway® apparel is treated with Insect Shield®, giving you invisible, odorless protection just by putting on your clothes. The treatment is bound to fabric fibers, so it stays in your clothes—not on your skin—and lasts through 70 washes. It's effective against ants, flies, chiggers, midges, and ticks, as well as mosquitoes, which can transmit insect-borne diseases such as Zika, Chikungunya, Dengue, and West Nile viruses.

Works great, size upI got these for a backpacking trip. Combined with the bug away shirts, I managed to get bitten only once - which is amazing, given that I'm always the first and most bitten in any group.
Will say, though, that they are not the most durable. They snagged on a twig on day one, resulting in a hole. I did enjoy how light they are so I suppose that's the trade off. Also as someone else stated, they are not at all waterproof. Not a deal breaker for my particular use case, but FYI.
Would recommend sizing up and using the drawstring to cinch to your waist as they tend to be particularly tight around the inseam. I picked this design in particular because it makes sizing up possible without worrying about sagging.

Light weightPROS : Tick protection . Nice lightweight fabric for summer. Roll up tabs a nice feature.
CONS: Not very comfortable. Sizing seems off.
IN GENERAL: I live in the country where deer ticks are an increasing problem. I wanted protection for gardening. These were the only pants I could find with permethrin protection and so I was willing to put up with only fair comfort for that reason. Being a hiker and angler, I have worn many outdoor pant labels over the years and these are by far the most uncomfortable. Waist drawstring fixes too large waist (although I do not like the feature). Pockets in front way too tight. Just are not the kind of pants you want to hang out in because of overall comfort level. Ordered 2 pair of damselfy and 3 pair of Ziwa pants to find one that fit. (The Ziwa pants were also uncomfortable, small waists and zip off feature uncomfortable). Sizing and design for both styles just seems off. Ordered one size up (normally wear a size 6) and kept the damselfly.
Exofficio, you have a great advantage with the insect shield, but as soon as someone else can provide insect protection IN ADDITION TO comfort and styling, I will be shopping there.

Colour not as shownLast year exifficio had bugsaway pants in white and I bought three pair. This year they have no pants in white so I purchased these in oyster and the colour is much darker than it looked in photos. I buy a lot if exofficio clothes but this pair was a disappointment and the lack of a zipperred front pocket makes them not as useful for trekking and hiking. Also the waist is a little too low for comfort with a pack
Hope next year they will have actrue white hiking pant

Light weight, bug proofI bought these pants for gardening and they are perfect. They are light weight - so cool - and very easy to move in. Plus they are bug proof for up to 70 washes. They dry quickly and I love the waist that has a tie closure so can make fit perfectly. Will probably buy another pair.

Poor fitI bought these pants about a month ago for 60$. They are poor fit and miserable to hike in if they get wet. Had to change pants in the middle of the woods.

Sizing variesThe material in the pants seems sturdy and cool. A nice weight for summer. However, the sizing in Lands End clothing is difficult to figure out. I have a slightly older pair of these pants in a size 8 petite. I wanted a pair that is a little bigger, so I ordered a size 10 petite. However, the size 10 fit me exactly the same as the size 8. I am disappointed.
