Rated 1 out of 5 by Mike88 from Very disapointed with fit I have been buying the ExOfficio Ampario 30 inch waist short length for 15 years and own about 12 pair of convertible and non convertible styles. I am 5' 7" and 160 pounds. They always fit perfectly, and had nice features like a belt, zippered pockets and a cell phone pocket. I loved the fit and were my go to pants. This version with the same name is completely different style. The 30 inch waist is 2 inches narrower then the previous version. I returned them and purchased 32 inch waist. This fits my waist so I started wearing them but the legs are so baggy that they became unusable. I have decided to stop buying ExOfficio pants and am looking for a new brand that fits. I do not understand why they have changed an excellent product to this version that is so baggy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Blue from Sizing is not consistent I recently purchased the SOL Cool shorts size 36 and they fit fine so I thought that would be the same scenario with these pants with the convertible shorts. This is not the case as these feel like a size 34. By the way, the sizing program on the website actually suggested a size 34 and I went with what I thought would work due to past purchases in a size 36. Also, I’m not crazy about the button these are not the same rugged buttons normally associated with Exofficio. I agree with a lot of other reviews that the quality has really diminished - what a shame.

The top entry of the pocket makes it difficult to put your hands in the pockets, even the though pants are baggy (which I don't mind at all--I actually like the bagginess). If you put your hands al the way down to the bottom of the front pocket, the top edge of the pocket cuts across the back of your wrist. Otherwise, these are nice pants. Also, I am a size 30 in the sandfly pants, and 32 in these pants. The pocket problem makes it difficult to recommend these pants to my friends, even though I will probably just deal with it. On the other hand, it's less likely that anything will slip out of these pockets.

Rated 2 out of 5 by The Real Deal from Didn't like the cut or pockets I found the cut too baggy, and the front pockets were at a weird angle, making them hard to use. I returned them, but appreciate the effort to make pants in a short length.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ross from Palatine from Recommend Quality is very good. I use them more often for wet wading. They are exactly what I wanted for that purpose. Quick dry, and the material is good quality—much more rugged than some cheaper brands. Pockets are good, and streamlined. Only downside might be that they fit a little “boxy”.
