Rated 3 out of 5 by from Little to no insect protection Nice sock, but I haven’t noticed any protection against mosquito bites on my ankles (other than the part covered by the sock, of course! All in all, not worth the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bugs away quarter socks The socks themselves are just fine. Unfortunately, I seem to be allergic to the chemical used for the bug protection. I wore them for several hours, and the top of my feet broke out into a very itchy, red rash that took a few days to go away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cushioned quality I may have bought these towards the end of skeeter season, but my ankles have never been better protected when I wear them for yard work. These are thicker socks and very comfortable. These make a difference. I had some ExOfficio pants that were long, but I still got a bite or two. Now with the socks, they can’t get to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great comfort, feet stay dry We got both the men’s and women’s version, for hiking in the North East. Both my husband and I loved wearing these socks. The weather was hot and yet—magically—our feet stayed cool (!) and dry (!). Also the socks didn’t smell even after days of hiking. The padding is just perfect, so the socks have this super comfy feel to them, and we had no blisters. The best hiking socks we have ever had. We bought them only for protection from ticks but ended up loving these so much we would wear them even when ticks are not a concern.
