TUKWILA, WA -- On the heels of the successful launch of its TofuTech™ products last spring, ExOfficio has expanded its range of performance travel apparel made with soy for Spring/Summer 2008. ExOfficio's new Soytopia, ExSential and Satellite collections, which all feature various blends of soy, will be introduced at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, August 9-12, 2007 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Soy fabrics, made from the plant stock of soybeans, have natural antibacterial, odor resistant, and moisture wicking properties. Additionally, soy fabrics are wrinkle resistant, quick drying, durable, and have a very soft hand -- all-important characteristics for adventure travel apparel.
"Soy is a renewable resource that inherently offers many benefits similar to natural and synthetic fibers without adding chemical treatments," said Monica Smith, ExOfficio Design Director. "We want to provide our customers with comfort, and the piece of mind knowing that they have chosen a garment made with a sustainable fabric. From all the positive feedback we have received from our initial soy offering, we knew we needed to expand our product range with this natural performance fiber."
ExOfficio was honored to receive Outside Magazine's 2007 Green Gear of the Year Award for its advancements in the development of soy products.
For Spring 2008, ExOfficio introduces the Soytopia and ExSential Collections for women, and the Satellite Soy Collection for men.
